Symptoms: Akathisia
I visited a psychiatrist in late October 2025 who suggested I take Risperidone for psychiatric symptoms. After taking the medication I noticed I started to feel strange.
I took it in the evening and felt strange by the time I went to bed. All of a sudden I couldn’t sit still from extreme discomfort so terrible I couldn’t sleep. A mix of being drained and not being able to stop moving because the discomfort would set in.
I had work the next morning and hoped it would wear off by then but it persisted. I ended up being sent home because I wasn’t able to handle standing up.
Keep in mind this was only 4mg and persisted for 16+ hours. I felt like I decreased in my symptoms while I was in my right mind. However when the side effects kicked in, it was so bad I dumped the rest of the pills in the trash because I didn’t even want to take them by mistake.
