What happened?

Age: 26–35  ·  Duration of use: 1–2 years  ·  Current status: No, have stopped
Symptoms: Severe withdrawal, Cognitive impairment

Doctor prescribed benzo for seizures.

I actually had a stroke and spinal cord injury from a car accident. Doctors wouldn't listen or test appropriately.

So benzos.

Got sicker and sicker. Knew they were hurting me more.

Decided to taper myself. Fine. Then bam. Hit me like a ton of bricks.

Found the Ashton manual. Tapered over a year. Unsupported by the medical community who denied suffering even possible.

Hardest taper. Never knew they were so bad. Till dependent.

Tapering is hard. Use the Ashton manual. It is possible. Healing does happen.
