Symptoms: Cognitive impairment, insomnia, tinnitus
I was diagnosed with suicidal thoughts and placed on Zoloft. I am currently 75 years old. I was on Zoloft 100 mg for 15 years. I went off cold turkey and could not sleep for 8 days. Then I went back on it at 75 mg daily for 3 months, 50 mg daily for 3 months, then 25 mg daily for 3 months, then half a tab of 25 mg daily for 3 months. I finally kicked them completely.
I had other effects. I could no longer read for more than 10 minutes, and I would get nervous issues after that, plus other issues. I went off at least 10 years ago and still cannot read like I used to. I was a voracious reader, always had a book going. Not anymore.
My advice: never stay on these meds for more than 6 months. If it takes longer than that, you need other help/remedies, not psychotropic drugs. Jesus was my help through it all.
