Symptoms: Emotional blunting, sexual dysfunction, cognitive impairment, insomnia, depersonalization/derealization, tinnitus, neuropathy, severe anxiety/panic, muscle/joint pain, muscle atrophy, facial sagging, stretchy/dry skin, hair thinning, gray hair, muscle twitching, body numbness, hearing impairment
4 months ago, I took my first dose of Finasteride. An hour later, I experienced an intense pressure in my head unlike anything I had ever felt before. Thinking it was just my imagination, I took a second dose the next day. Again, I felt the strong pressure in my head, along with cognitive decline and erectile dysfunction (ED).
Terrified, I stopped taking the medication immediately. I only took two pills in total. However, the head pressure, cognitive impairment, and ED persisted. Three weeks after discontinuing the drug, I began developing additional symptoms: loss of libido, emotional blunting, severe anxiety, insomnia (waking up after only a few hours), tinnitus, numbness and tremors in my body, and muscle atrophy.
While the numbness and tremors have since subsided, the other symptoms continue. My loss of libido and ED have worsened, and my tinnitus has evolved into three distinct sounds. I have also noticed my hair thinning all over my body.
I have undergone blood tests, MRIs, and hormone panels at several major hospitals, but all results came back normal. I have visited numerous specialists, but I have yet to find a doctor who understands Post-Finasteride Syndrome (PFS). I feel a profound sense of despair living with these conditions. Given the severity of my neurological, psychological, and sexual symptoms, as well as the physical changes to my body, I am desperate for recovery. Above all, I want to find a way to treat the tinnitus and sexual dysfunction. I’ve been suffering from PFS for 4 months now.
